Day 1: Fly from London Heathrow to Cairo with Egyptair and transfer to your hotel for 3 nights
Day 2: A morning visit to see the Great Pyramids of Giza and Sphinx. Afternoon at leisure, time to relax by the pool or to do some shopping in the many bazaars. In the evening a chance to take an optional excursion to see the fantastic Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids.
Day 3: After breakfast a visit to the Egyptian Museum to see the treasures of Tutankhamen and many other artefacts of Ancient Egypt. Afternoon at leisure or you may want to take one of our optional tours to the stunning mosques of Islamic Cairo and the intriguing early churches of Coptic Cairo. In the evening, enjoy an optional dinner cruise on the Nile whilst watching a traditional folklore show.
Day 4: After breakfast journey eastwards through the dramatic Sinai desert and onto St. Catherine's village for a stay of two nights.
Day 5: A trip to St Catherine's Monastery, which is considered to be the oldest known monastery in the world. Located at the foot of Mount Moses this spectacular building was built between 527 to 565 AD to house the bones of St. Catherine of Alexandria. St. Catherine, whose body was reportedly carried away by angels, was discovered 500 years later at the top of the peak that now bears her name. The monastery contains many priceless works of art including Arab mosaics, Greek and Russian icons, paintings, marbles and chalices.
Day 6: After breakfast head to Petra, this long but rewarding journey travels through the Sinai Desert to Nuweiba and the crossing of the Red Sea to Aqaba. Upon arrival in Jordan travel to Petra for a stay of two nights.
Day 7: A full day guided tour of the ancient city of Petra. Enter this once forgotten city through the Siq canyon which leads to the dramatic first sighting of the Treasury, Petra's most famous monument.
Day 8: This morning travel along the ancient King's Highway to visit the Crusader fortress at Kerak. Continue to the Dead Sea. Rest of day at leisure to relax and enjoy the hotel facilities. Overnight at hotel.
Day 9: This morning continue along the ancient King's Highway to visit Mount Nebo and Madaba before arriving in Amman for our final stop of the tour for a two night stay.
Day 10: A full day exploring Amman. Visit the Citadel and archaeological museum then continue to visit Jerash the most well preserved Roman city.
Day 11: Morning transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
