Cairo

Cairo is a must for anyone fascinated by the magnificent Great Pyramids and the Sphinx of Giza. Situated on the Nile, Cairo is exciting, vibrant and fascinating; it is a perfect blend of old and new. Take time to explore the treasures of Tutankhamen in the Egyptian museum or take a stroll around the bustling Khan El Khalili bazaar. Away from the city centre, there is still more to see from the capital of ancient Egypt at Memphis to the Step Pyramid at Saqqara.

Marriott Mena House

“The Marriott Mena House was superb; eating breakfast literally in the shadow of the pyramid was magical”(customer quote November 2023)
This elegant hotel was opened in 1869 and was formerly a royal hunting lodge. Luxuriously furnished with arabesque furniture, carved brass-bound doors and fine antiques, it is an oasis of calm set in 40 acres of jasmine-scented gardens in the shadow of the Great Pyramids of Giza.

Errata:The Main Palace building at the Marriott Mena House is completely closed for restoration and all facilities are now in the Garden Wing. This includes the reception and the lobby bar.
