Cairo and Nile Cruise July 2025 I just wanted to say a huge thank you for putting together our Egyptian Trip Wow Wow Wow everything was just amazing. We have all had the best holiday ever. Our Transfers were the best I have ever had; The guides did not wait in arrivals; with a board they had got through to baggage collection and even knew which belt our luggage was on. The hotel at Giza was superb and they could not do enough for us. We even had adjoining rooms which was nice. We visited GEM The Grand Egyptian Museum which is mind blowing in size and really can't be appreciated in a day. We visited the Pyramids, had camel rides, saw the Sphinx, visited a Papyrus works and of course the obligatory Perfume factory, another full day to the valley of the kings, other tombs and temples and the ancient city of Memphis and Sakkara all of which did not disappoint. A little confused to the ancient history of gods and kings but such fun trying to learn, at least we learnt how to say, "No Thank you" In Arabic in the bustle and hustle of the souks Our flight to Luxor was changed to 6.30pm which gave us the chance to go by ourselves to Cairo and the old antiquity museum and see the artifacts of Tutankhamun. Once on the Nile cruise boat, we had more Wow Wow Wow moments nothing was too much trouble, I have never met such attentive staff from the cabin guys to waiters to management just bowled over with the service, The food was superb and what choices we even had entertainment in the evenings and one night a huge BBQ on deck. Our Egyptologist, " Walid " was so knowledgeable so attentive so caring and we had him all to ourselves all week, on board and off what a joy he was, what a credit to his company. Nothing, absolutely nothing was too much trouble. I wanted to bring him home with us.!!! Despite the heat which we just about managed, (high 40s) It has been the most fantastic trip and thank you and your company for organising it Denise – Uttoxeter.
03 March 2025 I have just returned from a 7-night Nile cruise on Alexander the Great, booked via Discover Egypt. I cannot speak highly enough of the whole trip - it far exceeded my expectations. Even though I am normally a completely solo and independent traveller, from the moment I arrived at Luxor Airport till returning there, I felt looked after, without being smothered. The boat was outstanding - the room, the food, the service, and the staff were faultless, and our Egyptologist was excellent. 11 Of us met up on this trip and we all agreed we could not have had a better time. I particularly recommend Alexander the Great - it is much smaller than all the other boats we saw, has a lovely sun deck and pool and a very relaxed atmosphere. I could not have wished for more. February 2025 Just wanted to say thank you for arranging our fantastic Egypt holiday. I have been to Egypt several times a few years back and loved it, The transfers and communications on the ground were impeccable! So efficient! It made the experience so much more enjoyable as they were so professional and organised. All picks up and transfers were spot on! It helped having visas organised beforehand too. The boat- Alexander the Great cabins were really spacious and comfortable. The outside/ top deck was lovely with plenty of covered seating and sun loungers and a pristine pool. The food and the service were what really made this trip! The five course European evenings were mostly very good but when they had local evenings the food was delicious. The food highlight was the BBQ lunch on deck with a wonderful variety of fresh salads, veggies, dips, and BBQ meats. Deserts were among the best I have ever had! The service throughout was excellent. Friendly, professional, and warm. We all thought it was brilliant, and way exceeded our expectations. The relatively small number of guests made it easy to get to know people but still enough space to yourself when you needed. The Egyptologist was very good too as was the other guide in Luxor. Discover Egypt/ Wings made this trip so stress free we were all delighted! Just wanted to pass on the feedback in case it is useful for other guests.
Just got back from our Nile Cruise last night(05 August). Wow! Just wanted to say what an amazing time we had on the Alexander the Great. From the minute we arrived in Cairo with your rep waiting for us with our Visas, then rep Ramy who met us at Luxor at 2am to take us to the boat. Even though it was just me and mum, nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Our Guide Ahmed was amazing all week. He looked after us so well. We had a lovely little group of just 6 on the boat so to have his personal expertise guide us through the sites was unforgettable. We learnt so much. The boat staff were fantastic too and excellent food. The organization of everything was really exceptional. It ran like clockwork. As two women travelling alone we felt totally safe all the time. Alexander the Great – April 2024 My husband and I have recently returned from an absolutely wonderful holiday organised by your team. We really loved the customised itinerary that enabled us to have a shorter time on the cruise bookended by a stay in Cairo & Luxor and the train ride… and we still got to see all the sites! In particular we LOVED Alexander the Great & having seen the other larger cruise ships, including the Tulip, we realised that we wouldn’t have enjoyed those so thank you for recommending it. The quality of all the excursions was also excellent as the archaeologists were extremely knowledgeable, the meets & greets were all smooth, and we liked how it was just in small groups. We have now returned from what was an excellent holiday in Jordan , despite some very indifferent weather. The management of the holiday was seamless and ,being just the two of us, enabled a lot of flexibility. You provided us with two excellent drivers who took great care of us. The booked guides were always. On hand and extremely helpful. Being just the two of us enabled our visits to be very flexible. The stay at the Dead Sea Resort and Spa was very welcome indeed, as the days at Petra had been rigorous and, in the case of the first day, very wet. The room, and especially the quality of food there were all excellent. The Petra Corner hotel was a bit basic, breakfasts were a bit sparse. Al Qasr was fine, and their staff were very helpful.
